Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj
أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْغِيبَةُ؟ قَالُوا: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ: ذِكْرُكَ أَخَاكَ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ
Atadroona mal-gheebah? Qaaloo: Allaahu wa Rasooluhoo a'lam. Qaala: Dhikruka akhaaka bimaa yakrah

Do you know what backbiting is? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: Mentioning your brother in a way he would dislike.

Kya tum jaante ho gheebat kya hai? Unhon ne kaha: Allah aur uske Rasool behtar jaante hain. Farmaya: Apne bhai ka zikr is tarah karna jo use napaand ho.

کیا تم جانتے ہو غیبت کیا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: اللہ اور اس کے رسول بہتر جانتے ہیں۔ فرمایا: اپنے بھائی کا ذکر اس طرح کرنا جو اسے ناپسند ہو۔
