Sunan Abu Dawud — Hadith #4946
Imam Abu Dawud al-Sijistani
أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْغِيبَةُ؟ قَالُوا: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ: ذِكْرُكَ أَخَاكَ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ
Atadroona mal-gheebah? Qaaloo: Allaahu wa Rasoolahu a'lam. Qaala: Dhikruka akhaaka bimaa yakrah

Do you know what backbiting is? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: It is mentioning your brother in a way he would dislike.

Kya tum jaante ho gheebat kya hai? Unhon ne kaha: Allah aur uske Rasool behtar jaante hain. Aap ne farmaya: Apne bhai ka zikr is tarah karna jo use naagawaar ho.
اردو
اللہ کے نزدیک سب سے پسندیدہ عمل وہ ہے جو ہمیشہ کیا جائے، چاہے تھوڑا ہی ہو۔
