Muwatta Malik — Hadith #1614
Imam Malik ibn Anas
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ انْتِزَاعًا يَنْتَزِعُهُ مِنَ الْعِبَادِ، وَلَكِنْ يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ بِقَبْضِ الْعُلَمَاءِ
Innallaaha laa yaqbidu al-'ilma intizaa'an yantazi'uhu minal-'ibaad, wa laakin yaqbidu al-'ilma biqabdil-'ulamaa'
English
Allah does not take away knowledge by removing it from the servants, but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars.

Allah ilm ko bandon se chheenkar nahin uthaata, balke ulama ko uthaane se ilm uthata hai.
